How to give an effective scientific presentation

One component of the graduate school, medical school, residency/fellowship and continuing education training is to conduct research as part of a student or faculty mentor’s overall scholastic activities. Dr. Garner has created several research programs, including this one for IllinoisCOM at The Chicago School. This program includes a series of Self-Directed Learning (SDL) modules that cover a spectrum of research issues meant to escort a novice or experienced learner (or mentor) through a research project, from conception (hypothesis generation and background research) through completion (manuscript writing and poster/oral presentation of the research conclusions). This research training program includes training modules specifically for medical students, residents and those in clinical practice as well as graduate students. As such, this program can also be used for GME training.
