Allen & Ruth Swayne Etowah, Tennessee

This project is dedicated to Allen and Ruth Swayne of Etowah, Tennessee. They were both truly extraordinary people who are remembered and loved by everyone who knew them. Granddad and Mama Ruth are still missed every single day. Ooh Pug! Jim Swayne is the grandson of AP and Mama Ruth. It was Jim and AP who started searching for original sections of the 1805 Old Federal Road in the 1990s. In 2025, Jim compiled all of their research into a book, Old Federal Road. The book is available on Amazon, and places in McMinn County, including Revival Grounds Coffee House in Etowah. Tellico Trail Documentaries are produced by Chanse Simpson. The stories are inspired by places in James P. Swayne’s 2025 book, Old Federal Road.
