Hängebrücke Furi Gornerschlucht Zermatt Switzerland Suspension Bridge: https://s.geo.admin.ch/soph4eswl0om The Furi has exactly what a good suspension bridge needs. At 100 meters long, it ranks among the longest suspension bridges. At a height of 90 meters above the ground, the Furi creates a truly spectacular sight. And when you look down from the bridge at the Gorner Gorge below with the Gornerbach river, many feel a thrill—partly because of the wildness of the Gorner Gorge, and partly because of the height of the suspension bridge. The fact that the Furi is also a bridge that sways quite a bit makes the experience even more exciting. The Furi suspension bridge above Zermatt is very tightly tensioned. As a result, it has very little sag, and since the maximum gradient on the bridge is just 8%, it is also easy and effortless to cross. Because the sides of the suspension bridge are secured only with a light wire mesh and the floor is constructed with an airy, perforated grating, the sense of freedom and the view of everything beside and below are sensational. Nevertheless, the Furi Bridge is very sturdy and designed to carry a load of up to 125 people (at 75 kg each).
