ALL BLACKS SMASH WALLABIES – Steve Hansen & Ewen McKenzie on the Eden Park aftermath

A brutal Eden Park reality check: the All Blacks rack up 50, the Wallabies run out of answers, and the Bledisloe is gone again. So what actually broke down, and how does Australia respond in Sydney with a World Cup year looming? David Pembroke, Steve Hansen and Ewen McKenzie get stuck into the key shifts: New Zealand’s improved high ball work, maul defence, breakdown support, and why Australia’s early momentum and Sua'ali'i plays disappeared. They unpack the box-kick obsession, the lack of plan B, and what the carrying and tackle stats say about the game. Then it’s onto the bigger stuff: Australian depth and pathways, Super Rugby and competitiveness, Carter Gordon and the Wallabies’ long-running issue at 10, plus refereeing, TMO delays, law clarity, and World Rugby’s next steps for emerging nations.
