From family tree to family table.

One of my goals as a woodworker/ aspiring furniture maker is to have a few signature pieces. One of them being a dining table. This is a timeless design stripped of a few braces for joinery in its place. The result is a modern farmhouse table with strong Japanese influence. I think this table will fit well in many settings in all houses. It's quiet, calm, and thought provoking. I'm very proud of it. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do. This build was special. It's made from our childhood tree that stood in front of our parent's old house. I was fortunate to harvest the wood, although I never had a real plan for it. I just hated the thought of it being thrown it in the chipper. After several years of mulling it over, I gave it a go. There are some things I'de do a little different, but the overall design and execution im very happy with.
