Grand Admiral Thrawn is back and his return may have created one of the biggest timeline problems in modern Star Wars.
For years, the thirty years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens were presented as a relatively peaceful period. The Empire had been defeated, the New Republic had risen, and the remaining Imperial forces were scattered.
But Ahsoka and The Mandalorian changed that picture.
The Imperial Shadow Council is still operating. Imperial remnants are waiting for Thrawn. And now one of the Empire's greatest strategists has finally returned to the galaxy.
So what happens if Thrawn launches a major war against the New Republic?
Wouldn't a conflict that massive completely change how we understand the rise of the First Order?
In this video, we break down how Thrawn's return could retcon the post-Endor timeline and why that might actually make the sequel-era story better.
We also explore Baylan Skoll, the World Between Worlds theories, the Imperial Remnant, and how Lucasfilm could make Thrawn's war massive without breaking the established timeline.
How big do you think Thrawn's war should become?
Should he launch a massive galactic conflict—or should his campaign end before most of the galaxy realizes how dangerous he really was?
