Sermon Title: Stepping Out of Struggles Preacher: Askah -cya Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 Date: Sunday 16th of August,2026. (BIBLICAL TEACHINGS) Key message:God has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. 1. Acceptance Acceptance does not mean giving up or accepting defeat. It means recognizing our situation and becoming willing to trust God for the next step. As believers, 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us that we are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God's special possession. Our struggles do not cancel our identity in Christ. 2. 👣 Taking Action in Faith Faith requires movement. Sometimes we pray for change, but God also expects us to take the step of faith available to us. -The four lepers — 2 Kings 7:3–10 The four lepers were in a difficult situation. They reasoned that remaining where they were would not change anything, so they decided to move toward the Syrian camp. Their movement became the beginning of a breakthrough. -The woman with the issue of blood — Luke 8:43–48 The woman had suffered for many years, but she acted in faith and reached out to Jesus. Her faith moved her from simply hearing about Jesus to approaching Him personally. -Ruth and Orpah Ruth and Orpah faced a decision about their future after Naomi encouraged them to return to their families. Orpah returned, while Ruth chose to remain with Naomi. Ruth's decision required courage and faith because she was stepping into an uncertain future. 3. Depending on God for Sustenance Ezekiel 34:15–16 presents God as the Shepherd who cares for His people. God promises to feed, lead, strengthen, and restore His sheep.🐑 This reminds us that while we should take action, our ultimate source is God. We should not depend entirely on our own strength, resources, or understanding. When we are struggling, we can trust God to sustain us while we continue moving forward. 4. 💡 Being in the Light Walking in God's light changes how we approach life's struggles. Psalm 20:1–6 This passage emphasizes calling upon God in times of trouble and trusting Him to answer, strengthen, protect, and give victory.John 8:12Jesus describes Himself as the light of the world. Following Him means refusing to remain in darkness and choosing His direction. Benefits of being in the light 🌟 🧭 Direction— God helps us know where to go. 🙏 Dependence— We learn to trust Him rather than ourselves alone. 🕊️Hope— Darkness does not have the final word. ❤️Transformation — Walking with Christ changes our lives. 🛡️ Guidance and protection— God's Word helps us make wise decisions. 🌱 Growth — We become better equipped to fulfill God's purpose. -We Are Called to Serve Matthew 28:19 gives believers the Great Commission: we are called to go and make disciples. Coming out of our struggles is not only about what God can do for us. It is also about what God wants to do through us. Reflection Questions 1.
