Session 4 of the C & C++ Programming course (Batch 1) — Week 2: Loops, Functions & Recursion begins. Your program can now take input, calculate and decide. Today it learns to repeat.
Taught by Akshay Bankar — Senior Robotics Engineer at Octobotics Tech. Nearly four years writing C++ for robots that operate in the real world: industrial AMRs, power-grid inspection robots, hazardous-environment inspection systems. Two patents from his time as Project Engineer at IIT Kanpur's SMSS Lab.

In this session:
Why loops exist — doing something a hundred times without writing it a hundred times
The for loop — initialisation, condition, update, all on one line
The while loop — repeat until a condition changes
The do-while loop — the one loop that always runs at least once, and when that matters
break and continue — leave the loop early, or skip one round
Infinite loops — how they happen and how to stop one
Pattern printing with nested loops — stars, triangles and number patterns
Assumes Sessions 1 to 3:
Session 1 — setup, first program, variables: • C Programming Session 1 — How Computers Ru...
Session 2 — printf, scanf, operators, typecasting: • C Programming Session 2 — printf, scanf, O...
Session 3 — if / else if / else, switch, logical operators: [add link]
Coming next in Week 2: functions (Session 5) and recursion (Session 6).
The course — C & C++ Programming
2 months • 24 live sessions • 3 days a week • 2 hours each • online
Month 1 — C: fundamentals, pointers and memory (with diagrams, until they're easy), structures, malloc/free, file handling, searching and sorting. Aligned with ESC111, IIT Kanpur's first-year Fundamentals of Computing.
Month 2 — C++: classes and objects, inheritance and polymorphism, the STL, exception handling, multithreading with std::thread and mutex, final project.
Throughout: debugging with GDB, clean-code habits, GitHub, core-company interview questions, GATE-style problems.
All recordings for 1 year, weekly assignments, WhatsApp doubt support, certificate
