Classic TV Theme: Married...With Children

The first primetime show to air on the fledgling Fox Network, this 1987 sitcom ran for 11 seasons and 259 episodes. It wasn't a big hit (due to the new network's limited distribution), and its 'raunchy' content proved to be controversial. But it persevered while Fox shows with stars like Patty Duke crashed and burned. It's still airing in rerun-land, and it's hard to hear Sinatra's hit single 'Love and Marriage' (from a 1955 tv production of 'Our Town') without thinking of Al Bundy and his dysfunctional family. Music and lyrics by Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen.
