He left behind his blood, fingerprints, clothing and a weapon. Yet the man who killed the Miyazawa family has never been publicly identified.
On December 30, 2000, Mikio and Yasuko Miyazawa and their children, Niina and Rei, were murdered in their home in Setagaya, Tokyo.
Evidence indicated that the attacker remained inside afterward - eating their food, searching their belongings and using their computer.
This Noctirn Archives documentary follows the investigation: the family’s final evening, the evidence recovered from the house, the attempts to trace the killer’s clothing, and later developments that brought new questions without providing a name.
It also remembers the four people behind the case and the relatives who continue to wait for answers.
Reported estimates and possible leads are distinguished from established findings.
