Bob K0NR Joyce K0JJW Dick K0RWE Doug K0ILO plus one Mike KE0PWR plus one (Laurel) Walt W0CP Sam W5CU Many of you are experienced with SOTA activating, so you can just operate as usual. There are two things to pay attention to with so many activators on the summit: 1. Two meter band: there will be a lot of activity on this band, with many Colorado S2S opportunities. For the most part, we need to have only one station transmitting on the band at a time to avoid interference. Let's coordinate among ourselves to make this happen. One possible exception: we may be able to operate SSB or CW on the lower portion of the band at the same time another station is operating FM in the upper portion. We did this on Mount Blue Sky today with some minor interference. I think only Mike, Joyce and I have 2m SSB/CW, so let's coordinate. 2. HF Bands: The HF situation is similar, but there are more bands to choose from. If you are operating HF coordinate with the other activators so that only one station is transmitting on a band. On the Saturday of the event (Aug 1), Bob/K0NR and Joyce/K0JJW will be doing a SOTA activation from South Monarch Ridge (also known as the Monarch Crest), right above Monarch Pass.
