Week 43: A Year in God's Story of Grace

Join us as we turn to 2 Corinthians, where Paul faces rival preachers who boast of polish and credentials, and he reminds the church that the kingdom advances through the humble love of Jesus. In chapters 8 and 9, he invites the Corinthians to share in an offering for the struggling believers in Jerusalem, people they will likely never meet. Their generosity flows from the example of Jesus, who though rich became poor so that we might receive life, and from the new creation we have become in Christ. Along the way, we hear of treasure held in jars of clay and of Paul’s thorn in the flesh, where God’s power is made perfect in weakness. As we head toward Sunday, consider this question: how might God be inviting us to give generously and to let his strength shine through our weakness?
