On 11 October 2026, 1 SCOTS Colours were laid up at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. Before the ceremony, a magnificent parade marched down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. This was the final time the 1 SCOTS Colours were paraded, making it a truly historic occasion. The parade featured the Colour Party, accompanied by three Guards representing veterans of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, The Royal Scots, and The King’s Own Scottish Borderers. On 1 December 2021, 1 SCOTS (The Royal Scots Borderers) was reorganised into the 1st Battalion, Ranger Regiment (1 RANGER). This video captures the massed Pipes & Drums marching proudly down Edinburgh’s iconic Royal Mile. The pipers and drummers were from 2 SCOTS Pipes & Drums, joined by the Pipe Majors of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Pipes & Drums and the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Corps of Signals. A truly memorable moment celebrating Scotland’s proud military heritage, traditions, and the stirring sound of its military pipes and drums. 👉 If you enjoyed this unique Scottish military experience, please give the video a like and share your thoughts in the comments below!
