DRIVE NEVADA LAS VEGAS: Deer Creek Road

Deer Creek Road connects Kyle Canyon and Lee Canyon close to the top of these roads in Las Vegas. Take either road up hill to the top and Rt.178 ((Deercreek)) will be there. Some of the highlights of this connecting road are: 01.Champion Road ((Camping and hiking & 4 wheeling)). 02.Hilltop Campground ((Closed in winter)) 03.Atomic bomb viewing overlook. 04.Road that leads to Youth offender Camp. ((Entance to camp blocked)). 05.Many pullouts with sweeping vistas. 06.Views of Angel Peak ((9000 ft. elevation)). 07.Mt. Charleston ((12000ft.)) to the southwest. 08.Lee Canyon Ski Resort to the Northwest. 09.Elevation changes from 4000ft. to 8450ft. on Deercreek from north to south and back. 10. "Watch for Burrows" they don't seem to understand that a car or truck can kill them. They stand right in the middle of the steep canyon inclines. By the time you see them at night, it's too late. Trust me on this one!
