Moving rapidly at 20 km/h over the Southwest and adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal, the system is currently positioned 630 km from Chennai and 710 km from Visakhapatnam, Nellore, and Machilipatnam. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Murasu will escalate into a severe cyclonic storm tomorrow and is expected to make landfall along the South Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Narsapur on the morning of November 3, bringing winds of 100–120 km/h.
