The Davit Melkonyan Group (Online Concert on Armenian Christmas)

The musicians are: Edgar Avetisyan (bass) Anna Kostanyan (vocals) Karen Mamikonyan (piano) Daniel Melkonyan (trumpet) Davit Melkonyan (saxophone) Arman Mnatsakanyan (drums) Areg Ordyan (guitar) This popular band was founded by saxophonist Davit Melkonyan in 2019 and their repertoire comprises songs from older and modern Armenian composers. The songs are often rearranged to blend with the group’s unique style, while maintaining the traditional principles and aesthetics of the originals. This gives new life and popularity to Armenian pop or jazz tunes that are sometimes forgotten or underperformed. The Davit Melkonyan Group is one of the most accomplished and sought-after performers in Armenia.
