How to use the Sanskrit Reading tutor Part 1 - How this application enables you to teach yourself to read Sanskrit by highlighting corresponding syllables of Devanagari and Transliteration and by using text to speech to read the syllables, words and sentences: The Sanskrit Reading tutor was designed to help beginners learn to read Sanskrit while they are learning the Sanskrit alphabet. Normally there is a stage in which you know all the letters but you do not recognize all the combinations of letters. Whether you are a beginner or advanced beginner at various stages of learning, the Sanskrit Reading Tutor helps by converting any text to double lines of corresponding Devanagari and transliteration. Then, whenever you hover over a syllable it will get highlighted in both the Devanagari and the transliteration lines. like this you can learn by comparing them. If you are not sure about the pronunciation, you can simply click on a letter and it will play the sound for you. You can click the Devanagari syllable, or the transliteration - in both cases it will play the sound. You can also listen to a complete word by right clicking on it. When you want to listen to the complete sentence click the round play button next to the Devanagri line. You can also click the squarish button just below the round one and then the whole sentence will play syllable by syllable while highlighting the syllable that is being read.
