Attorney Dan Marr from the Nashua NH law firm of Hamblett & Kerrigan was just last month on a three person panel for a NH Bar Association education seminar on employment law wherein the panel focused on AI in NH employment. In this vlog he discusses some basic concerns all employers should have as to their employee candidates and employees use of AI to deceive the employer, or to overly rely on AI to replace their critical thinking, phrased by some in higher education as cognitive surrender. If a job candidate in a remote interview is looking down away from your eye contact in the Zoom/Teams call they may be answering your questions with AI showing they are not quick critical thinkers. There are also AI generated fake texts and emails a fraudulent employee may created to support their false claims against a fellow employee or the employer and some also even will produce false AI generated medical notes such as a doctor report stating the employee needs to work from home remotely. While most employees are honest, those who are willing to make a false statement about another employee or to fake the level of their medical condition may use AI to bolster their false claims so confirmation from the source (for texts the smart phone or for medical records a release to get the records directly from the medical provider) may be prudent.
