Swiss linguist Ferdinand de Saussure discusses the concept of ‘Langue’ and ‘Parole’ in the third chapter titled ‘The Object of Linguistics’ in his ‘Course in General Linguistics’ (translated by Wade Baskin). According to Saussure, the distinction between “langue” and “parole”, is the basic starting point of modern linguistics. He believes that both ‘langue’ and ‘parole’ are the key concepts which often shape behavior of human speech and thought. Fundamentally, ‘langue’ and ‘parole’ are French words. ======== Chapters of video lesson: 00:00 Introduction 00:12 Distinction between Langue and Parole 01:08 What is Langue? 03:04 Function of Langue 04:00 Review of Langue 04:29 What is Parole? 06:11 Conclusion of Parole 06:31 Aspects of Language ======== Important Links:    • Introduction to Linguistics      • Advanced Linguistics      • Sociolinguistics      • Morphology      • Psycholinguistics      • Corpus Linguistics      • Sociolinguistics      • Phonetics      • Плейлист      • Word-Formation Processes      • History of Linguistics   ========
