One hour of steady pink noise, with a softly lit illustration of a reading nook by a window in the rain. After 30 minutes the picture fades slowly to a black screen, so the room stays dark while the sound keeps playing until the end.
Pink noise is an even, low-pitched hiss, softer than white noise. Many parents use it as a constant background sound to cover household noise around the nursery.
How to use it: start the video before naptime or bedtime, place the phone, tablet or speaker a few metres from the crib (never inside it), and set the volume low, about as loud as a quiet conversation. Turn on repeat if you need it to run longer, and lower the screen brightness before you begin.
Good for:
Naps and bedtime in the nursery
Covering street, hallway or neighbour noise
Reading, studying or working quietly in the evening
There are no sudden sounds, ads in the middle of the audio or music changes, just a steady tone for the full hour.
