Kingdom Come | Matthew 23:13–22

What happens when religion actually gets in the way of people seeing God? In Matthew 23:13–22, Jesus turns directly toward the scribes and Pharisees and announces a series of woes. These leaders knew Scripture. They were religiously active. They were passionate enough to gain converts. Yet Jesus says they were shutting the Kingdom in people's faces and creating systems that allowed people to appear obedient without actually living with integrity.
