What if God already gave you what you need — and you've been calling it nothing?
This week I could not get away from one story in 2 Kings 4 — the widow and the oil. She's about to lose her sons, she has nothing left to sell, and when the prophet asks what she has in her house, she says: "Your servant has nothing there at all — except a small jar of olive oil."
Nothing except. That's the phrase I haven't been able to put down all week.
Because most of us have a "nothing except." A gift we decided was too small to matter. A skill we assume everybody has. A nudge from God we've been ignoring because the timing doesn't feel right. And we keep asking Him for something new while the thing He already placed in our hands sits there, still sealed.
Here's what struck me most: God didn't give her more oil. He told her to go gather empty jars — to make room for what He was about to do with what she already had. That's what her faith looked like. Collecting containers. That's it.
So maybe the question isn't "God, why haven't You given me more?" Maybe it's "God, what did You already give me that I've been discounting?"
If you're a Christian woman who has been waiting for permission, clarity, or a bigger platform before you start — this one is for you. Walking in your purpose rarely begins with more. It begins with noticing what's already in your hand. You don't need more before you can begin. You need to stop calling what you have nothing.
This is a video about trusting God with what feels too small, overcoming self-doubt, and taking the next step with what you already carry.
