Arena of Valor is also known as 王者荣耀 (Honor of Kings) in China, it has the same game engine, mostly same design and music composing team but different characters developed by Tencent for rest of the world (outside China). 王者荣耀 (Honor of Kings) in-game characters are inspired by Chinese folklore and mythology. Tencent partnered with DC Comics to release characters like Batman, Joker, and Superman for the international version. The in-game characters have been swapped from characters inspired by Chinese folklore and mythology to characters inspired by European folklore and mythology. Tencent licensed the game to Garena Singapore to release the mobile game in Southeast Asia. Tencent is also the owner of Riot Games, the developer of the most profitable PC game of all time - League of Legends. Tencent acquired Riot Games in 2011.
