To build a 100-car parking garage, steel sheets were vibrated deep into the ground. Across the street, in the historic Captain David Hand House, lived John Krug, 80 years old, blind, and a resident of the home for more than 50 years. According to him, the house shook like it was hit by an earthquake, sometimes for 15 minutes at a time. Paintings fell from the walls.
