Installing Pompei: The Legend of Vesuvius Like It’s 2000 Again | Lost Net

Back to the early 2000s. Today I’m installing Pompei: The Legend of Vesuvius, an adventure game set in ancient Pompeii — a forgotten CD-ROM game that feels like a perfect time capsule from the era of PC gaming. Before digital stores and instant downloads, games like this came on physical discs, often sitting on shelves for years after you bought them. So let’s put the disc in, install it, and see what this forgotten piece of gaming history looks like today. This is part of the Lost Net series — revisiting old games, software and digital experiences that shaped the era. Lost Net is an independent, non-profit archive documenting the forgotten digital world — its games, websites, software, advertisements, stories and atmosphere. 🌐 Website: https://lostnet.space/ 📸 Socials: @ lostnet.space ☕ Support Lost Net: https://ko-fi.com/lostnet ☕ Buy us a coffee: https://buycoffee.to/lostnet Another forgotten game rescued from the shelf. #LostNet #Pompeii #PompeiiTheLegendOfVesuvius #RetroGaming #OldGames #PCGaming #GamingHistory #RetroComputing #2000sGaming #DigitalHistory
