What if the emotion you feel least comfortable bringing to God is the very one He wants you to bring honestly?
In Episode 6 of *Honey For Your Heart: We Grieve Our Losses*, Bryson Kessler and Randy Hemphill continue the conversation about anger—this time focusing on how to express it in healthy, redemptive ways.
Most of us learned one of two responses to anger: explode or suppress. But neither reflects the fullness of God’s design.
Healthy anger does not deny what is wrong, and it does not give us permission to harm others. Instead, it moves toward honesty, self-awareness, healing, and restoration.
In this episode, we talk about:
• What healthy anger actually looks like
• How to express anger without hurting others
• The patterns we often inherit from our families
• Why understanding our emotional history is different from blaming
• Common fears Christians have about anger
• Why God invites us to express anger honestly to Him
• What Psalm 109 teaches us about raw emotion, self-awareness, and worship
• What the prophets reveal about righteous anger
• How anger can lead to boundaries, justice, reconciliation, and growth
• Practical ways to begin changing unhealthy anger patterns
One of the most freeing truths in this conversation is this:
*God does not require us to pretend we are not angry before we come to Him.*
The Psalms show us that honest prayer can include frustration, disappointment, outrage, grief, and questions. But biblical anger does not have to leave us stuck there. It can move us toward deeper honesty, greater awareness, and even worship.
Healthy anger moves toward truth—not harm.
Reflection
What patterns of anger did you learn growing up?
Do you tend to explode, avoid, withdraw, become passive-aggressive, or shut down?
What might change if you began bringing your anger honestly before God?
And perhaps the most important question:
*Lord, what are You inviting me to do with this?*
This season of *Honey For Your Heart*, **We Grieve Our Losses**, features Randy Hemphill and explores how we name our losses, understand our emotions, and express them in ways that move us toward healing.
*Next week:* Every journey through grief eventually arrives at one of the hardest invitations God gives us—forgiveness.
We’ll talk about why forgiveness does not excuse what happened, but may become part of the way God sets our hearts free.
