Detroit Traction Elevators @ Palmer Commons, University of Michigan

(June 2026) These are very similar to the other generic lifts around here, with Adams Survivor Plus buttons and basic steel cabs. I think I enjoyed these the most of their siblings, though, as they have satisfying leveling and motor startups, setting them apart a bit from what most of the industry was making in the early 2000s. I also like the effect of the lighting in the cab, and how the two panels in the right car are different from the one on the left. I enjoyed the artwork around the landing too. This is the south bank of elevators; the north set is pretty much identical to the right car in this one. Installed: c.2002 Michigan serial number: 39011 / 39012
