Gabri reads real stories of loss submitted by the My Mom Died community, and reacts to each one honestly. Grief can convince you that no one could possibly understand what you have been through. Then a stranger, living a completely different life, grieving a completely different person, says something that makes you realize you are not alone in this. That is what today is about. In this episode of My Mom Died, Gabri steps back from her own grief to make space for yours. She reads submissions from listeners around the world, an 18-year-old who held her mom's hand in her final moments, a woman in the UK who was at her mum's side when she took her last breath, a listener in Cape Town who lost her brother and her mom to Covid six weeks apart, a woman in New Zealand who turned repeated loss into a community, and a 16-year-old carrying grief far too early. After each one, Gabri shares where she saw her own grief reflected back. This is an episode about being witnessed. About the comfort of hearing someone say "you felt that too." And about why grief deserves to be shared out loud.
