Bibbulmun Track - day 28

Day 28 - Tom's Road to Boarding House August 31, 2025 A subjectively very long day, Mim was struggling with her falling apart pack and the straps in particular. Mostly along the Donnelly River, we passed several tributaries, with the Donnelly becoming turbulent and fast flowing after each before settling down to become a wider but still fast moving river. We passed the sign for the trail's halfway point, and obligatory selfies were taken. The last leg stretched out as Far Out only navigated to the turnoff to the hut, with 200m to the hut itself, which felt quite unjust. Got into camp a bit after 3pm. Took a closer look at the damaged straps on Mim's pack, but although serious the problem seems largely cosmetic for now with little I can do to repair it. Met Colin and Bill who also hiked in, Colin is a farm consultant and Bill is a journo for the West Australian paper (whatever that's called). Had a convo with Bill about spirituality, quite random, like he picked the interest out of my head. I like coincidences of that nature.
