The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and 11 tribal groups in Davao City have offered security support for Vice President Sara Duterte after the Philippine National Police (PNP) took away the 75 personnel assigned to her security detail. We offer to provide security of the Office of the Vice President needs it the Moro National Liberation Front, we will provide security detail kung kailangan ng vice president,” MNLF-Davao Chairperson, Monk Aziz Olamit.MNLF said it is willing to provide security personnel for the vice president.Tumawag na sa ‘tin yung mga retired MNLF integrees o yung mga commander natin sa ground ng MNLF mga best fighters natin yung mga expert talaga yung mga veteran fighters natin. They called me and they are just waiting for the order then we will file the necessary protocols kung papaano namin sila ayusin legally. The group added that it has personnel on standby should Duterte needs them. They clarified that the offer is an act of volunteerism and a way of repaying the Duterte family.Kung gusto niya battalion size we can provide it. Anyway that is just for security reason. Take it not offensive to the other parties this just…kung titingnan ng PNP tulong ito ha this is not a threat. It’s about time to pay kung ano man ang mai-augment namin this is not a threat. This is for the good ang best interest of our country.Aside from the MNLF, up to 220 people from 11 tribal groups in the city also volunteered to provide security for the vice president.Accordingly, these tribal groups have started offering security support in December 2023 but it was for former President Rodrigo Duterte when reports about the latter’s supposed arrest came out.Former Sen. Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV questioned Vice President Sara Duterte's fitness to remain in office, saying videos of her posting bail at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court showed that she was "clearly not in the right state of mind.In a social media post on Saturday, Trillanes said Duterte should not be allowed to become president or remain vice president, urging Filipinos to choose their leaders carefully for the good of the country and their fellow citizens.
