Asain Travel Beautiful Floating Village - Kompong Pluk - Tonle Sab Lake
Having the chance to encounter the stilt town and collective of Kampong Phluk (which means Harbor of the Tusks) on Cambodia's Tonle Sap [Great Lake] was unquestionably one of the highlights of our time in Cambodia and a standout amongst the most special places both of us have ever gone by.
Most guests to the zone head to the stilted ("gliding") town of Chong Khneas, which is much closer to the vacationer mecca of Siem Reap. We had been exhorted from our companions Doug and Akemi (whom we met in Khuri, India) to maintain a strategic distance from Chong Khneas as they had been very frustrated. Kampong Phluk was a vastly improved (and less touristic) wager. The drawback was that it was a lot more distant of town (a blended gift I assume) however we had the capacity consolidate seeing the town into a day trip with some different sights and have truly no second thoughts about the choice.
Kampong Phluk is situated on the forceful Tonle Sap, Cambodia's "Incredible Lake" which is an one of a kind waterway in itself. Notwithstanding having the qualification of being the biggest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, the stream of the whole lake alters course twice every year. In the dry season (November to May), the Tonle Sap channels into the Mekong River at Phnom Penh. Be that as it may, at the onset of the rainiest time of the year (in June), the powerful Mekong River swells, turning around the stream of water into the Tonle Sap. Hence, the lake develops and contracts generously over the span of the year. As an aftereffect of this wonder, groups living in and around the area influenced by this "tidal" framework have adjusted over many years. Towns, for example, Kampong Phluk are assembled well inside of the influenced territory, turning into a riverside town for a great part of the year, and a "drifting" town for whatever remains of the time.
