Aberdeen Cold

“Aberdeen Cold” uses the severity of a northern South Dakota winter as the emotional landscape for a breakup. One lover drives away during a snowstorm, leaving the other to endure a season in which the freezing weather outside and the emptiness of the house become almost indistinguishable. The ending finally introduces movement: the snow melts, blue appears in the sky, and winter—and the lost relationship—begins to release its hold. September 15, 2026
