Valais, Switzerland: Ridge Hike to a 3000m Peak – Augstbordhorn, Augstbordgrat & Dreizehntenhorn

The post bus takes us to the Moosalp (2,048m), the starting point of this challenging tour. We hike to the Augstbordhorn (2,973m) and continue over the spectacular Augstbordgrat ridge to the Dreizehntenhorn (3,052m). From the Moosalp, we ascend through alpine meadows, enjoying magnificent views into the valley and of the surrounding peaks. The final ascent to the Augstbordhorn, the first summit of the tour, leads over a ridge and through a boulder field. Afterwards, the terrain becomes alpine: The Augstbordgrat is an alpine path that requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. In the last section, the path is no longer recognizable, and we must scramble over rocks and scree. The descent from the Dreizehntenhorn takes us past the idyllic Grosse See lake and other mountain lakes to the Brandalp. 🇨🇭🇩🇪🇦🇹 Wallis, Schweiz: Gratwanderung zum 3000er – Augstbordhorn, Augstbordgrat & Dreizehntenhorn. Hyperlapse Hoch hinaus im Wallis! Mit dem Postauto geht es zur Moosalp (2'048m), dem Ausgangspunkt dieser anspruchsvollen Tour. Wir wandern zum Augstbordhorn (2'973m) und weiter über den spektakulären Augstbordgrat zum Dreizehntenhorn (3'052m). Von der Moosalp steigen wir durch Almgelände auf, mit herrlichen Tiefblicken ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Gipfel. Der letzte Anstieg zum Augstbordhorn, dem ersten Gipfel der Tour, führt über einen Grat und durch eine Blockhalde. Danach wird es alpin: Der Augstbordgrat ist ein alpiner Weg, der Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit erfordert. Im letzten Teil ist der Weg nicht mehr erkennbar und wir müssen über Felsen und Schutt klettern.
