Reading only the translation (Tarjuma) can give the literal meanings of the words of Quran, however, Tafseer comes with context in which a particular Ayah of Quran was revealed, hence giving a context to each and every word, which consequently means a better understanding of Quran and its verses. It is the science of explanation of the Quran. The purpose of Tafseer is to study the principles which the Quran came to clarify: The explanation of a perfect set of beliefs with respect to the one and only Creator Allah and the relationship of the created with the Creator. The perfection of personal conduct and good morals.
