Resonant Reminiscence ("At the Bottom of Night") - Chrono Trigger - Harp and Cello Quartet

This piece, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, was arranged for the Game Grooves "Chambers of Time" album, which features small ensemble arrangements of music from the Super Nintendo game Chrono Trigger. This arrangement features a cello quartet and a harp, where the fourth cello tunes down their lowest string from a C2 to a G1 to mimic a contrabass (the part is also playable on a contrabass, if one is available). The trick to playing this cello scordatura is to read the music normally, as though for cello, but play on the fourth string (pitched at G1) instead of the third string (pitched at G2). Resonant Reminiscence is a harp and cello quartet arrangement of "Depths of the Night" or "At the Bottom of Night" from the Nintendo DS version of Chrono Trigger. It features prominently during poignant, introspective, and tragic moments of the game. For example, during Frog's story about his guilt and regret over the death of his friend and mentor, Cyrus. Or Robo's final, fatal encounter with his companion Atropos. Mr. Mitsuda pulls the heart strings with this sad, reflective piece, and I hope I captured some of that here.
