GRACE UNTO THE HUMBLE James 4:5-8, 2 Chronicles 26:1-5, She was standing over by the side of a telegraph pole with her little hands up against the pole, weeping, sobbing her little heart out. And the teacher trying to find the child…She had her little Canadian flag across her shoulder and was weeping. And the lady said, the teacher, “Dear, why do you weep? Did you not wave your flag to the king to show that you were a patriotic?” She said, “Yes, teacher, I waved my flag.”She said, “Then did you not see the king?” She said, “No, teacher, it wasn’t that I did not see the king. I saw the king.” She said, “Then why are you weeping?”She said, “The king did not see me.” 16 Oh, how different it is with the King of kings. You cannot be too little. He sees every move you make. He knows all that’s in you. He…Not even the sparrow could fall to the street without Him knowing it. Not a little flower could come up, a little crocus, unless He knows about it. So how much more are you than the flower? And if you are laying here sick or afflicted, do you not know that the King of kings is watching you? Do you not know that He’s interested in your healing and in your welfare? You may be ever so sinful, but did you know He is interested in you becoming His subject? You say, “But I’m just an insignificant person.” But you’re not in the sight of God. God wants you. He loves you. And God so loved you, that when His love was projected, sovereign grace taken its place and sent a Saviour to redeem you back to Himself. And in this Saviour He was wounded for our transgressions, because God loved you. And God saw the afflictions of His people, and with His stripes you were healed, God’s grace making a way, for His love required it. 57-0126E - When Divine Love Is Projected, Sovereign Grace Takes Its Place And Paul said, “I had an infirmity of the flesh, that was given me, a devil, a messenger of the devil, that buffet me,” that’s like, “blow after blow.” He’d get better, and then get it, hit him again. Said, “I consulted the Lord three times, to take it away from me, but the Lord said, ‘Paul, My grace is sufficient.’” Then said, “Except I would be exalted above…the abundance of the revelation.” He had more, by revelation, than Peter, James, John, or any of them. He seen Him after He had been gone for maybe two years, or more, standing in a Pillar of Fire, talking to him. How much greater today, two thousand years, and He still lives! He knew the perfect will of God. Cain knew it. Why? But, he refused to do it, he proved then to be the serpent’s seed. When he seen the perfect will of God, he refused it. He had seen God vindicate Abel’s message. He knowed that was the will of God. See? He seen God vindicate Abel’s message. And what did God say to him? And He just, He said, “Do the same, do worship like your brother, and—and you’ll do well.” But you see, he seen the perfect will of God, but he didn’t want it. See, he wanted to add something to it. 247 And these theologians see this Bible, they read It, but they don’t want to do It. See? It shows the serpent’s seed. They have seen It vindicated, and so simply before the people, but it seems like it’s so hard for people to humble themselves to the Word of God. 248 Don’t you all find, when you’re talking, you women, to girls, about wearing long hair, and they say, “Why you got your hair long?” See? “Why do you wear your skirts down, long?” You go to talking to them, they kind of give you the shoulder. Isn’t that right? See, they know that’s right, if there—if there is any lady in them. See? They know that’s right. We don’t know how long. We don’t desire to know how long; it’s not our business. That’s Your business. It’s not our wills to know when You will come. It’s our will, Lord, to keep humble till You do come, and walk with You.
