A beautiful, fully accessible roll along the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail (and the King Charles III England Coast Path). Today we are traveling from Brancaster to Brancaster Staithe entirely along the brand-new, purpose-built boardwalk.
📍 Route: Brancaster to Brancaster Staithe Harbour (Approx. 2km)
♿ Accessibility: Boardwalk with wide-berth gates and regular passing spaces.
About the Boardwalk:
This incredible £1 million+ stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path officially opened in October 2024. It replaced an old, decaying wooden walkway that was being destroyed by the harsh marine environment. The new 2km boardwalk was specifically engineered out of eco-friendly glass-reinforced plastic planks (built with a core of recycled plastic bottles) designed to protect the fragile saltmarshes and last for up to 80 years!
Crucially, it was designed from the ground up for maximum inclusivity—making it wide enough for wheelchair users, mobility scooters, and pushchairs to easily pass each other, complete with high-contrast bumper strips and accessible viewing platforms.
If you're looking for an accessible, scenic day out in North Norfolk with gorgeous saltmarsh views, this is it.
