Eastbound California Zephyr passes Vasquez Crossing in Winter Park

Amtrak Train 6, running 17 minutes late out of Fraser, ascends the curve at Vasquez with a friendly blast of the horn and wave from the Engineer inside the cab of Genesis P42 Phase V #151 with Phase VII #196 trailing. On the headend this afternoon is the Federal Railroad Administration's Office of Safety DOTX #221 returning east to Chicago following its trip westbound through here earlier this week. First Class Sleepers are #32050 "Cape Lookout" and #32001 "Arches" with Phase VII Sightseer Lounger #33026 seen earlier this week removed in Oakland for Phase IV #33035. Video taken 10/01/2026.
