Amuzement Park - Love Show Down (12" Mix)

Originally released in 1982, Amuzement Park's self-titled debut spent the next 40 years earning cult, crate-digger status - passed around at record shows, never finding its footing before its label folded the year after. Revisited in 2026, it turns out something was working against it from the start: transferred from tape at the wrong speed, this record has never been heard the way its creators intended. Until now. Every release since 1982, original pressing included, ran at the wrong speed, throwing off the pitch and tempo of every track - despite "Groove Your Blues Away" still hitting #47 on the R&B charts before the record settled into cult status. The Ohio outfit was fronted by singer/bassist Paul Richmond, its boogie sound sharpened by New York session heavyweights Norma Jean Wright (Chic) and Tawatha Agee (Mtume) on backing vocals, produced and arranged by Dunn Pearson Jr. Remastered from the original tapes at the correct speed, "Amuzement Park" hits digital for the first time on its original parent label, Mirus Music Corp - all platforms, August 28, 2026.
