Deep in the misty highlands of Hubei, China lies the stunning Guanmenshan Scenic Area (官门山)—a sub-region of the legendary Shennongjia National Nature Reserve.
Come along on a 4.5-minute journey starting right from the roaring mountain streams and swaying pedestrian chain bridges in the rain. In this video, we step inside the local exhibition halls to uncover the unique history of the region.
From the rare, centuries-old "Kunyu" ceramic tombstone bowl to the scientific mysteries of the legendary Yeren (Wild Man) cave statues and rare white bears, this place is packed with wonders.
We even get a close-up look at the critically endangered Chinese Sturgeon—a prehistoric "living fossil" rarer than the Giant Panda!
The journey wraps up in the best way possible: reflecting on the day from a peaceful hotel balcony while diving into the massive encyclopedia, Plants of Shennongjia.
