You won’t believe what Xiaomi just unveiled. After the wildly successful launch of their SU7 sedan—with over 258,000 units sold—the tech giant has stepped even deeper into the electric vehicle world. Meet the Xiaomi YU7, an all-electric crossover designed not just to compete, but to dominate. With performance figures that challenge the Tesla Model Y and Porsche Macan EV, this isn’t just another EV—it’s a statement.
The Xiaomi YU7 is no concept or experiment. It’s a production-ready electric crossover offering rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, powered by an advanced 800-volt electrical system and dual-chamber air suspension. Braking is handled by Brembo calipers, while the futuristic interior boasts a breathtaking 1.1-meter HyperVision panoramic display, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Think flagship smartphone meets luxury SUV.
But the real jaw-dropper? The Max variant produces 690 horsepower and rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds. This makes the YU7 one of the fastest electric SUVs of 2025. Built on the Modena platform, it features a sleek coupe-like silhouette, flush door handles, dual rear spoilers, active aero, and a drag coefficient of just 0.245. That’s not just for show—it adds 59 km of range.
The YU7 comes in nine premium colors and offers 19" to 21" wheels, air suspension with five ride heights, and adaptive dampers. The interior rivals luxury brands: Nappa leather seats, ambient lighting, massage functions, and even a rear-seat mini fridge. It’s as much a tech showcase as it is a vehicle.
Under the hood (or floor, technically), you’ll find a 96.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery offering up to 835 kilometers of range (CLTC). The Pro and Max models crank it up with 496 HP and 690 HP respectively. Charging? Thanks to 800V architecture and silicon carbide tech, you can go from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, or recover 620 km of range in only 15 minutes.
Safety is a priority, especially after recent scrutiny. The YU7 features a body built from ultra-high-strength steel, aluminum, and reinforced hybrid materials. It integrates a military-grade battery casing and a suite of sensors powered by NVIDIA DRIVE XTOR, offering full autonomy, lidar, radar, 4D imaging, and AI-powered driver assistance.
The hype is real—and it’s just getting started. While official pricing is still under wraps, Xiaomi is expected to announce full specs and launch dates in July 2025. But one thing is clear: with the YU7, Xiaomi is no longer “just trying” in the car industry. They’re here to win.
If you're looking for the best electric SUVs of 2025, or you're simply a tech lover blown away by innovation—this is the EV to watch.
