Tolkien, Language and Mythopoeia

This was the introductory lecture to the half of the course devoted to J.R.R. Tolkien. The main focus will be the Lord of the Rings, but the roots of the discussion of that book lie in his view of language. After a brief discussion of that work, we look to his poem Mythopoeia, a response to his then-atheist friend C.S.
