Taekook Fanfiction | The Taster Who Lived On Borrowed Time | Oneshot | Topkook

After an assassin nearly poisons Crown Prince Taehyung, the royal council pulls condemned prisoner Jungkook from the dungeons with a grim bargain. Taste every bite set before the prince for one year, survive the poison, and walk away free. At first, neither man speaks as the thirty-minute safety sand-glass runs down between courses. Soon, cold protocol gives way to shared meals and quiet teasing. Taehyung refuses to eat until Jungkook sits beside him, and Jungkook starts sliding sweet spiced figs across the silver platters to ease the prince's burdens. When poison finally strikes a royal banquet, surviving the year is no longer about winning a pardon.
