The Nine: The CIA's Classified Search for Egypt's Ancient Deities

During the Cold War, declassified intelligence records reveal that government contractors and parapsychological researchers investigated claims of anomalous human perception and communication with non-human intelligences. At the center of these investigations was Dr. Andrija Puharich, whose work with military intelligence and civilian subjects led to claims of contact with an alleged council of entities known simply as "The Nine." This documentary examines the historical, archival, and folkloric context behind these claims. We trace how 20th-century intelligence research intersected with ancient Egyptian cosmogony (specifically the Great Ennead of Heliopolis) and compare these accounts to earlier esoteric traditions, including 18th-century Moroccan Sufi governance records and 14th-century theological writings by Ibn Taymiyyah. This video is an educational analysis exploring the intersection of Cold War military history, parapsychological studies, comparative religion, and folkloric history. It approaches historical claims critically, separating verified archival records from folklore, psychological perception, and tabloid fabrications.
