The Most Affordable Supercar Around | Bentley Continental GT Review - Beards n Cars

I realised recently that the only major variant of the iconic first shape Bentley W12 series which I hadn't yet reviewed is this one - the original 552 bhp Continental GT! Well of course we had to change that, and as it happens the folks at APC have one up for sale at a price point which perfectly illustrates the thoughts and conclusions which I've come to about these cars. For all of the performance improvements and visual updates of the Speed, SuperSport and beyond, if you're wanting a proper W12 Bentley experience then these original shape GT's and Flying Spur's offer 9/10ths of what they are all capable of anyway, but more importantly - at a fraction of the cost. Quite literally a fraction in fact given that an early example like this one is barely hot hatch money, for what was a six figure luxury GT when new, and to this day 20 years later is still a thundering 200 mph meteor of a car with one of the most imposing engines ever put into a GT, their equally iconic twin turbo 6.0 W12. The W12 line in all of its forms isn't without its problems though, take it from a former owner myself. So with that in mind its time to consider who should look into buying one of these cars on the used market these days, what you will be getting for your money, and what kind of combination of expectations vs problems you should keep in mind...
