Be sure to keep asking every staff at the immigrations counter and security checkpoint about the TAX REFUND, because not every employee speaks English. How much money do you get back from the VAT Tax? The customs official will rebate you 8.5% of the retail purchase price you paid, in cash (Vietnamese Dong only). After you receive your cash back, you can step aside to the next booth to exchange your currency. The conversion fee is 2.3% which is pretty inexpensive. The Da Nang Airport is really nice, modern, and clean. It's a good place to relax with plenty of seats and charging points. It's located in town and you can take a Grab to your accommodation. The airport is also 15 minutes from the beach. The food options are really expensive inside the airport. $5 for a Burger King Whopper with no cheese. $4.5 for an Evian Water. $1.5 for Dasani Water. Make sure to eat your cheap Vietnamese food before coming to the airport!
