Episode 21 of TRIO TALKS features TRIO Student Support Services and McNair Scholars Alumni, Wren Pettett. Wren's interview detailed service in the navy for 9 years and returning to Oklahoma. Originally, he went to a larger, commuter-type campus, and he described this as seeming “transactional." When he transferred to a small, regional university, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, for his bachelor's degree, he said the treatment he received in TRIO SSS and McNair Scholars helped change his ideas of seeing himself as a college student to a "scientist and overcoming his Imposter Syndrome." Currently, Wren is working in the field of conservation and starting his master's degree in biology.
