Not attaching His name to our anger, our tribe, our certainty, or our desires. But remaining with Him long enough that what we want begins to align with what He wants. God does not need a lie to accomplish His will. And when something continually produces deception, hatred, fear, cruelty, pride, or contempt, we are allowed to examine the fruit. The fruit of the Spirit gives us another pattern: Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness That is why the tree became the image for this song. Its roots disappear beneath the surface. Its branches reach into darkness. Its light does not come from the world surrounding it. It grows from what it is connected to.
