I look at why British hauliers are hesitating over Chinese electric trucks, even when the headline price and claimed range appear hard to ignore. I examine what is actually arriving in the UK, from Rightech and Yutong to Windrose and Citrac.
I break down the seven practical reasons behind the hesitation: approval, funding, charging infrastructure, dealer support, brand stability, resale value and connected-vehicle data. I also compare the risks with the established DAF, Scania and Volvo market.
I then consider the other side of the argument, including drivers’ experiences, Warburton’s Yutong TE7 order and where Chinese electric trucks could make sense. The conclusion is less about outright rejection and more about whether operators are ready to be first.
