Gianni Versace’s Spring/Summer 1992 womenswear show took place in Milan. This collection was inspired by early eighteenth-century romanticism filtered through a Baroque lens, which was most evident when Milla Jovovich opened the show sitting on a floral swing reminiscent of Jean-Honore Fragonard’s painting ‘The Swing’. This was also the show that launched Versace’s 'Signatures' to meet customer demands and not give into nostalgia. Supermodels such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Karen Mudler, and Linda Evangelista paraded the catwalk wearing printed silk dresses, skirts, and shirts worn with denim jeans and jackets showcasing high-lo mixing of day and evening wear. Later on in the show a number of beaded embellished leopard print ensembles appeared with another of Versace’s signatures: the ‘Tresors de la Mer’ motif.
